Summary Background:
In 2020, during the pandemic the City began to address a number of traffic complaints on Gallatin Street from 35th Place to 37th Street (Ward 5), including installing a number of temporary traffic calming devices. Pennoni, one of the City’s On-Call Transportation Engineering and Design contractors studied the area to determine more permanent traffic calming measures that could be implemented. The City hosted a number of community outreach and engagement opportunities with Ward 5 Councilmembers and residents, and presented a final version of the plan to Council in early 2023. The City has a contracted with NZI to proceed. This authorization will allow the project to begin construction.
