I move that the Mayor and Council authorize the use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to cover the cost of an IT technician to support staff and council-related IT needs in an amount not to exceed $150,000.

Summary Background:
The city is preparing to renovate and re-cable the existing City Administration building which will increase the bandwidth and WiFi at the facility. At the same time, a recent IT Assessment conducted by an outside consultant recommended that the city hire a full-time IT Technician to assist with the day-to-day tasks associated with hardware and software that staff use to perform their work. The position will work with Dataprise, Inc to perform more complex problem-solving needs. Upon the recommendation of the IT consultant the City Administrator concurs that the need to hire a full-time IT Technician for the City is necessary. The expected annual legacy cost of salary and benefits for this position is $150K.
