Authorization for SoHy Use Agreement

Suggested Action:

recommendation

I move that the City Council authorize the City Administrator to extend a short-term Events Use Agreement with the SoHy Co-Op to use the City’s parcels at 4503-4508 Hamilton Street as a temporary monthly event space through December 2022, subject to review for legal sufficiency by the City Attorney.

end

Summary Background:

The SoHy Co-op has operated a series of public events at the City’s vacant parcels to provide a temporary pop-up space for monthly programming for artists, musicians, and vendor event space through a Use Agreement with the City. The location is the City’s land adjacent to the Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail (RIATT). The SoHY Co-op has requested continued use of the space through December 2022 through an addendum to the existing Use Agreement with the City. The agreement will provide the City Administrator authority to terminate the agreement, if necessary, with advanced notice to SoHy Co-op.
