I move that the Mayor and Council authorize the City Administrator to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City of Mount Rainier that allows the Hyattsville Police Department to provide radio dispatching services on a requested basis and to reimburse Hyattsville for these services.

Summary Background:
The Mount Rainier Police Department does not possess the personnel capacity to provide law enforcement dispatching services to its officers. The City of Hyattsville would like to assist the neighboring municipality by entering an agreement in which Hyattsville will furnish radio dispatching and respond to calls for service from residents of Mount Rainier.
Next Steps:
Legal approval and approval of the City Administrator to execute the MOU.
Fiscal Impact:
The City of Mount Rainier will allocate $67K annually to the City of Hyattsville for dispatching services.
