For discussion: I move the Mayor and Council include $50,000 in the FY25 budget for the City to contract the services of a program data analyst.

Summary Background:
The Race and Equity task force is in the process of finalizing updates to the Equity plan. Within it are cross-sector recommendations that would help to advance equity across city departments. One such recommendation is hiring a data analyst/ program evaluation analyst.
The rationale for this recommendation is that this position would play a crucial role in operationalizing equity in the City by collecting information and working with visualization practices for more data-informed decision-making. This position would provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of new and existing programs and initiatives. It would guide resource allocation, policy development, and accountability/transparency. Additionally, a data analyst/ program evaluation analyst would work in service of priority projects like the finalized Equity Plan and the Residential Satisfaction Survey.
