I move that the City Council authorize the Mayor to send correspondence to the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission acknowledging and approving the request to change the address of the main residential building from 5334 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, to 5300 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville.

Summary Background:
The Canvas Apartments is a mixed-use development currently under construction in the 5300 block of Baltimore Avenue in Ward 1.
South of the subject site across Hamilton Street is 5214 Baltimore Avenue (Minority Access). Immediately north of the subject site is 5340 Baltimore Avenue (Crossover Church). The development replaces five buildings ranging in address from 5306 Baltimore Avenue to 5334 Baltimore Avenue. To date, the development has used the address 5334 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville.
Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) Staff is in receipt of a request from the developer to change the address of the main residential building from 5334 Baltimore Avenue to 5300 Baltimore Avenue. In accordance with State law, M-NCPPC may not rename any street or renumber any house located within a municipality in Prince George’s County unless the proposed change is approved by the governing body of the municipality.
