Summary Background:
In 2017 City Council approved a motion directing staff to initiate a plan to reimagine the park formerly know a Magruder Park. An RFP was solicited in October of 2017 and the contract was awarded to the Neighborhood Design Center (NDC). In 2018 NDC held multiple community sessions, conducted on-site analysis, and compiled and reviewed community input. The result of their work was two concept designs that were presented to Council on October 18th, 2019. Phase 2A of the project proposal will include analysis of existing conditions, community-based workshops, and the development of park programming and landscaping. NDC has developed a staged approach for the development of this project, Phase 2A of the project will include analysis and design concept refinement. The costs for Phase 2A will not exceed $400,000.00. The funding for Phase 2A is supported by a federal grant.
