Purchase of Upfitting Equipment from Frontline

I move that the Mayor and Council authorize the Police Department to purchase upfitting equipment for fifteen (15) vehicles from Frontline in the amount not to exceed $480,684.00 using the equipment prices set forth in the Frontline Howard County contract and rider agreement in effect from 10/1/2022 to 9/30/2023.

Summary Background:
The Police Department periodically must replace vehicles due to wear and tear they receive over many years of use. The City Administrator and Treasurer allocated for the purchase of fifteen (15) new vehicles in FY22 and FY23; twelve (12) patrol vehicles, one (1) marked, one (1) unmarked and one (1) ERT van which were previously approved under ARPA.
Next Steps:
Issue purchase order and proceed with purchase to upfit vehicles.
