ARPA: City Building Bathroom Updates - Change Order

end

Suggested Action:

recommendation

I move the Mayor and Council authorize the City Administrator to issue a change order to The Matthew’s Group (TMG) in an amount not to exceed $30,000 for additional work and materials as part of the renovation of the public bathrooms at 4310 Gallatin Street. The Treasurer is authorized to make the budget amendments necessary to encumber the ARPA funds authorized.

end

Summary Background:

In June 2023, the Council authorized a contract with TMG in the amount of $280,000 for the renovation of the public restrooms at the City Administration Building. These renovations include bringing the restrooms into current ADA compliance and updating all fixtures to be touchless to help control the spread of bacteria and viruses, such as COVID-19 and its variants. After the 3rd floor renovations were completed, it was discovered that the sink fixtures chosen did not adequately meet the needs of users. This change order is required to upgrade the sinks to include counters in all 6 public bathrooms, with a small contingency for any remaining unknown issues that may arise.

Next Steps:

Issue change order and complete renovations.

Fiscal Impact:

NTE $30,000
