I move that the Mayor and Council approve the FY22 Northstar Tutoring contract for tutoring and mentoring management services in an amount not to exceed $70,000, upon review and approval by the City attorney for legal sufficiency, in support of the City’s teen programming for students in grades 4 through 12.

Summary Background:

Northstar Tutoring has provided excellent individualized tutor/mentor matching to our Teen Center students over the past year. This contract retains their services for another year and includes adjustments in the method of delivery of curriculum due to the COVID-19 health crisis, such as the continuation of the option for virtual learning. This year’s contract also extends these services to students in the 4^th and 5^th grade, thereby increasing the educational outreach and support to younger students.
