I move that the Mayor and Council authorize an expenditure not the exceed $32,000 to Professional Lawn Maintenance Services, LLC. (PLMS) for Citywide leaf cleanup services under their existing contracts with the City.

Summary Background:

In Spring 2021, PLMS participated in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for both the Landscaping Maintenance and Alley Maintenance contracts and was awarded both. Both contracts contain provisions for the City to request additional related services, such as leaf collection. PLMS has provided a rate to provide a crew and equipment for one (1) day of pickup service. In the past, City staff hired temporary laborers to augment City staff during leaf collection, however, when COVID-19 became a safety concern it was decided that bringing in outside workers and to work with City staff would pose a significant risk and it was determined best to employ a working team with their own equipment to augment City staff and maintain separation of the crews.

 

Next Steps:

Issue purchase order and schedule the pickup dates.
