Suggested Action:
recommendation
I move that the Mayor and Council amend the Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) Capital Improvements Budget and authorize the Treasurer to adjust and transfer capital budget appropriations in various departments not to exceed $800,000 to cover the cost of capital equipment and building renovations at the City Administration Building located on 4310 Gallatin Street.

Summary Background:
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic the City established safety protocols that limited public access to all City facilities and reduced employee presence in facilities. As we begin to re-open the Administrative Office Building, we are preparing to incorporate new COVID-19 public and employee safety requirements including allowing some indoor public activities and, eventually, in-person Council meetings. To do so safely, the Administrative Building needs various upgrades. These upgrades include new Information Technology (IT) cabling infrastructure and related equipment, a full replacement of the rooftop heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system, and the conversion of public restrooms to incorporate touchless capabilities and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The anticipated cost of the upgrades with contingencies should not exceed $800,000.
Next Steps:
Adjust and transfer various FY22 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget appropriations.
Fiscal Impact:
No increase to the FY22 CIP Budget.
