I move that the Mayor and Council authorize the City Administrator to purchase a 25CY trash truck from GranTurk Equipment, for an expenditure not to exceed $285,000.00.

Summary Background:
The City’s fleet of trucks is aging, which makes them prone to significant mechanical and structural issues and corrosion. Having our trucks out of service to repair these issues causes other trucks to perform additional work, which increases wear and tear and shortens their useful life, increasing repair costs or accelerating the need to replace them.
To effectively address this need, the Department of Public Works recommends the acquisition of a 25CY garbage truck to replace a Freightliner that is 4 years beyond its replacement schedule.
GranTurk Equipment has provided pricing through Sourcewell Contract # 110223-LEG.
Next Steps:
Complete purchase and put truck into service.
