Suggested Action:

recommendation

I move the Mayor and Council accept and appropriate into the FY24 budget a $2,500 grant from Anacostia Trails Heritage Area (ATHA) for the design and printing of a Hyattsville visitor brochure which will be distributed by ATHA to hotels, restaurants, and tourism sites in the region.

end

Summary Background:

The City of Hyattsville applied for a $2,500 Rocket Grant from the Anacostia Trails Heritage Area (ATHA) to support printing costs for 10,000 copies of the City’s recently created visitor brochure. The brochure provides a high-level overview of City attractions and services for both residents and visitors. Through an agreement with ATHA, the brochure will be distributed to flyer stands in regional hotels, restaurants, and tourism sites.

A copy of the brochure is attached for reference. A small portion of the grant will be provided to a local designer to update the design including the addition the ATHA logo.

Next Steps:

Upon acceptance, the grant agreement will be completed, and work will begin on updating the design to include the ATHA logo and the printing/distribution of the brochure.

Fiscal Impact:

$2,500 in grant funds, with a 50% match from the City. The City’s match is via in-kind project management services and will require no funds expended from the City.
