Summary Background:

Over the past few years, the Department of Public Works has strived to make pedestrians and bicycle users safer in the City. In response to complaints and petitions for traffic calming around the City, staff have been working with Toole Design Group, one of the City’s on-call traffic engineering and design firms, to address several problem areas. One of the tools available to the City is painted intersections and/or crosswalks. Jefferson and 40th Ave as well as Church Place were chosen for the street art pilot program, with installations scheduled for later this summer.
