I move that the Mayor and Council authorize the City Administrator the execute a rider contract on Montgomery County Contract # 1155802 with Shannon-Baum Signs Inc. and authorize an expenditure not to exceed $30,000 for FY25, pending legal review.

Summary Background:

The City has over 100 signs that are old, worn out, damaged, or are otherwise in need of replacement. In addition, there are new signs that need to be installed at various locations around the City. The sheer volume of signs requires a contractor who has the tools and employees available to allow City staff to focus on other tasks and services for City residents. Shannon-Baum was selected as the most responsive and responsible by Montgomery County during the Invitation for Bids opened in August of 2023. City staff would like to execute a rider on the Montgomery County Contract # 1155802 as it provides the best service and price to the City of Hyattsville.

Complete legal review and issue a purchase order
