Suggested Action:

recommendation

I move the Mayor and Council authorize the City Administrator to enter into an agreement with NZI for installation of a walking path, bike rack, and pour-in-place site work at the Teen Center, for an encumbrance of $43,000 under their existing contract. This will be funded using legislative bond bill funding, and the Treasurer is authorized to make the budget amendments necessary to facilitate this expenditure.

Summary Background:

The City aims to enhance the exterior of the Teen Center to provide a safer, more aesthetically-pleasing environment for our youth. This renovation project will include the installation of a 6-foot wide concrete trail, excavation, grading, and additional sitework for functionality improvements at Nicholson Park.

The City has a current rider agreement to use Prince George’s County contract with NZI - PGC Contract # 932A-H(F)D.

In 2021, the City received $400,000 in legislative bond bill funding, which will support this purchase.

Next Steps:

Issue purchase order and schedule installation.

Fiscal Impact:

$43,000
