I move that the Mayor and Council authorize the City Administrator to approve the purchase of a replacement Emergency Response Team Vehicle from The Armored Group under the Federal GSA contract in the amount of $188,000.00.

Summary Background:
This new vehicle would replace our current vehicle which is 18 years old. The current vehicle is a liability risk because it was not designed for safe passenger transport. The new vehicle will be 4-wheel drive and have a life expectancy of 20 years. This vehicle is designed to safely transport up to 12 officers and/or residents in almost any emergency evacuation conditions or transport situation. This purchase is eligible for redlight camera funds as the City Attorney reviewed and confirmed that it meets the public safety requirement standard. The total cost would require a one-time payment of $188,000.00 under GSA contract # GS-07F-9375S.
