Suggested Action:

recommendation

I move that the Mayor and Council authorize and expenditure not to exceed $200,000 to Johnson, Mirmiran, & Thompson (JMT) to provide surveying services under their existing contract with the City.

end

Summary Background:

JMT has an existing Contract to provide Architectural & Engineering services to the City. They primarily have designed the Public Safety Building at 3505 Hamilton St, and are currently providing Contract Management, Contract Administration, Commissioning, and Inspection services for 3505 Hamilton St. In addition, JMT has provided surveying services under their existing contract with the City for a number of previous project including the DPW Facility, Hyatt Park, and Braxton Place to name a few. JMT has been an effective and valuable partner for the City and they look for to providing surveys for The Spot, Hamilton Alley, and most importantly the Driskell Park master plan projects. These survey are critical early in the concept and design process to ensure that we are making smart plans from the beginning to avoid potentially costly changes in the future.

Next Steps:

Issue purchase order and begin surveys

Fiscal Impact:

Not to exceed $200,000

City Administrator Comments:

Recommend Approval

Community Engagement:

The surveys will require little to no engagement with the Community. Engagement will occur during the planning and design phases of the projects.
