I move that the Mayor and Council authorize a change in the title of the previously approved motion #HCC-376-FY23 “City Building 2nd Floor Renovations” to “Municipal Building Renovations” with no change in ARPA funding amount of $800K to cover repairs and upgrades required in the municipal building including the 2nd floor.

Summary Background:
The Council previously approved ARPA funding to renovate the 2nd floor of the City building. This was in preparation and anticipation of HPDs relocation to 3505 and the realignment of staff and other departments to the 2nd floor. Unfortunately, as we continue to relocate staff to deal with mold remediation, worn carpet, broken windows and unserviceable desks and equipment, we recognize that repairs and upgrades are needed for the entire building. In addition, several staff members do not have office or desk space and the space planning study includes realigning offices and spaces on both floors for better efficiency and service.
Next Steps:
Change title name for budget purposes that will reflect overall uses of ARPA Funds for this project.
