Structural Evaluation of Existing Roof at 4310 Gallatin Street

end

Suggested Action:

recommendation

I move the Mayor and Council authorize the City Administrator to approve an expenditure not to exceed $19,000.00 to Johnson, Mirmiran, and Thompson (JMT) for a structural evaluation of the existing roof of the City Administration Building- 4310 Gallatin Street, under their existing contract.

end

Summary Background:

The existing Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system currently serving the City Administration Building is well past its deprecated life and needs to be replaced. Replacing the existing system with a new HVAC system may offset or add weight to the existing roof system. It is imperative that a structural engineer evaluate the existing roof to determine if a new HVAC system can be installed or if upgrades need to be made to the existing roof.

Next Steps:

With Council approval staff will work with JMT to facilitate the structural review.

Fiscal Impact:

$19,000.00 CIP Funds
