Suggested Action:

recommendation

I move that the Mayor and Council authorize the City Administrator to enter into a contract with Areoseal Contracting Corp. for the replacement of windows at 4310 Gallatin St. for an encumbrance not to exceed $230,000, pending legal review. This encumbrance will be funded using American Rescue Plan Act funds as previous authorized by Council, and the Treasurer is authorized to make the budget amendments necessary to facilitate this encumbrance.

Summary Background:

In the Fall of 2023, the Council authorized a contract with Berkeley Glass for the replacement of the windows at 4310 Gallatin St. In April 2024 Berkeley Glass informed City staff that they would be unable to fulfill the contract and returned the City’s deposit. City staff immediately reviewed the previously received proposals and solicited quotes from additional vendors. Aeroseal Contracting Corp. was selected as providing the best value to the City and could provide replacements for all windows where other vendors could not.

Next Steps:

Execute contract and schedule window replacement

Fiscal Impact:

NTE $230,000
