City Administrator Comments:

Recommend Support.  The staff will pursue bond funding to support this project.  The current dispatch system is in urgent need of replacement.  We have delayed upgrades in the municipal building dispatch center for years in anticipation of upgrading the new station with equipment and technology.  The current system fails during power outages, has network challenges, a VOIP phone system that is not compatible with the CAD and RMS systems, and cannot properly monitor CCTVs.  We have had recurring system crashes and other system failures. As the city continues to grow, our dispatch system needs to keep pace.  We will continue to explore partnerships with surrounding departments to help reduce short- and long-term costs and provide better and more reliable service to residents.
