I move that the Mayor and Council ratify the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Hyattsville and Eastern Mennonite University’s Washington Community Scholars’ Center entered into by the City Administrator on February 8, 2022 in order to provide an unpaid internship opportunity to assist our Mental Health Programs Manager with the development of the CIT Program.

Summary Background:

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is being executed to provide support for the Department’s Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Program. This will employ one unpaid intern to aid Adrienne Augustus, Media Relations/Mental Health Programs Manager, HCPD, with the development of the program.  The parties agree the intern will work a minimum average of ten hours per week during the internship.  The intern will participate in departmental meetings regarding the CIT program, visit an existing CIT agency and meet with Ms. Augustus weekly.
