Summary Background:

The National League of Cities is an organization comprised of municipal leaders from across the country that advocates for local government and equips local leaders and staff with the tools to advance their communities. At their annual summit, the designated delegates vote to elect NLC leadership as well as vote on the organization’s National Municipal Policy (NMP). The NMP is a compilation of federal policy positions that guide NLC’s federal advocacy efforts.

As a member of NLC, the City of Hyattsville is allowed to authorize one voting delegate to represent the City. The City of Hyattsville joined NLC in 2024.
