I move that the Mayor and Council authorize the use of American Rescue Act funds in an amount not to exceed $120,000 to hire a professional grant writer to assist the City in identifying grants to cover increased project and program spending and offset ARPA legacy costs.

Summary Background:

There are a number of state and federal grants being released over the next few years.  These grants require dedicated support to research, write and manage grants for the City.  The grant writer will support each department and assist with identifying grants and requirements.  Legacy costs for this position are expected to be approximately $100K annually.
