I move that the Mayor and Council authorize the expenditure of $33,846 for the renewal of the FY22 Annual Motorola Service Agreement for maintenance on the Police Departments dispatch console, portable and mobile radios.

Summary Background:
The Hyattsville City Police Department purchased a new Motorola, state of the art radio communications dispatch system in 2011. The cost was $350k. For several years the system was under a manufacturer’s warranty and all repairs, upgrades, and technical support were covered. The warranty has since expired and an annual service agreement is required to allow the Police Department to receive periodic software updates, equipment upgrades and to provide us with 24 hours, seven (7) days a week emergency service, should the system fail or need repair.
Next Steps:
Authorize the renewal of the agreement for FY22 not to exceed $33,846.
Fiscal Impact:
The $33,846 is within the approved FY22 Police Department Budget Appropriations.
