Suggested Action:

I move that the Mayor and Council authorize the City Administrator to negotiate and enter into an agreement to continue the lease of 4629 Baltimore Avenue for a period of six (6) months and authorize an expenditure not to exceed $36,000 for the term of the lease, pending legal review.

Summary Background:

In the Fall of 2019, the Council authorized the City to lease space at an adjacent property located at 4629 Baltimore Ave to give DPW staff the space to work, store materials, and park vehicles while the new Public Works Facility is being constructed. The new facility is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2021. An additional six (6) months extension shall provide adequate time allowing staff to work and store vehicles and materials on City property through completion of construction.
