Summary Background:
The staff requested that the Clean Water Partnership (CWP) provide the Mayor and Hyattsville City Council an update on the Nine Ponds (Wells Run Stormwater Management) project. The project involves the rehabilitation of existing stormwater best management practices (BMPs) and proposing future development. Discussions on a stormwater quantity and quality control management project for this area began approximately 10 years ago. Since that time, Prince George’s County, the Department of Environment, and private developers have partnered to construct a major project to manage rainwater and provide stormwater maintenance and management.
