Big Belly Solar Contract Renewal and Extension

I move that the Mayor and Council authorize the City Administrator to execute an extension of five (5) years to the current Big Belly Solar service contract in an amount not to exceed $80,000 per year pending review by the City Attorney.

Summary Background:
In the fall of 2016, Council authorized a five (5) year contract with Big Belly Solar for the installation of 32 solar trash and recycling compacting trash cans. In spring of 2018, Council approved an expansion of the system by an additional 50 trash and recycling cans. The extension to the original five (5) year agreement will merge the previous two (2) contracts into a single contract and provide for the installation of 16 new trash and recycling cans.

Complete legal review and execute the contract.

Recommend Support. The staff will schedule a presentation to provide an update on the benefits and value the Big Belly Smart System has provided to the City.
