I move the Mayor and Council proclaim April 30, 2021 as Arbor Day in the City of Hyattsville.

Summary Background:

In celebration of 30th years as a member of Tree City USA, the City will be partnering with the Prince George’s County Beautification Committee and the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC) to plant more than 40 trees and shrubs at 38th Avenue Park on Friday, April 30th, from 10 a.m. to noon. We will also provide perennials and educational brochures in support of the monarch butterfly and the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge. Volunteers will be kept at a minimum and COVID regulations will be enforced.

Plan the Arbor Day event.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Grant funds and City operating budget funds will support this event.
