I move that the Mayor and Council authorize an expenditure not to exceed $24,000 to Casey Trees for the planting of trees throughout the City as proposed and awarded in the PEPCO Sustainable Communities and the Prince George’s County Tree ReLeaf grants.

Summary Background:
In the summer of 2021, the City worked with Casey Trees to put together several grant applications to fund the purchasing and installation of up to 80 trees at various locations throughout the City. The City was awarded a PEPCO Sustainable Communities Grant in the amount of $9975 administered by the Rock Creek Conservancy. The City was also awarded $9600 from the Prince George’s County Tree ReLeaf Grant. The remaining funds are required matching contributions from the City tree budget.
