Suggested Action:

recommendation

I move that the Mayor and Council Authorize the City Administrator to enter into an agreement with Throne Labs, Inc, pending legal review, to provide temporary ADA accessible restrooms at various locations throughout the City. This expenditure is not to exceed $98,000 and will be funded utilizing American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds as part of the Public Restrooms and Shower Facility project as approved by Council at the April 17th, 2023, meeting. The treasurer is authorized to make the necessary adjustments to the budget to facilitate this expenditure.

Summary Background:

Over the past 3 years access to public restrooms has become an extremely important component of promoting public health. Many parks throughout the City lack restrooms and handwashing facilities. Utilizing Throne ADA accessible restrooms will allow for public bathroom access at multiple parks around the City. These restrooms will allow for the evaluation of locations for future permanent restroom locations. Throne will provide the restrooms and all cleaning and maintenance services during the time of deployment.

Next Steps:

Complete agreement, issue purchase order, and deploy restrooms.

Fiscal Impact:

NTE $98,000
