I move that Mayor and Council amend the FY23 Special Revenues Funds budget to accept and appropriate the Maryland Smart Energy Communities Grant in the amount of $22,500.00 toward the purchase of three (3) e-vehicles.

Summary Background:
In the Fall of 2022, the Maryland Energy Administration received applications for grant funding from existing Maryland Smart Energy Communities. Hyattsville has received grants in previous years for the purchase of electric vehicles. For Fiscal Year 2023, the City applied for funding to expand its use of electric vehicles. In March 2023, the City was notified that it was awarded $22,500.00 towards the purchase of three (3) e-vehicles for the Police Department’s fleet.
