ARPA - Tree Canopy Restoration Contract - Bry’s Landscaping

I move that the Mayor and Council authorize an expenditure of 65,000 to Bry’s Landscaping for the planting of trees and related services under their existing contract with the City. This expenditure is part of the Hyattsville Tree Canopy Restoration Project and was part of the American Rescue Plan Act funds allocation as approved by Council on May 1st, 2023.

Summary Background:
In early 2023 the Council authorized on-call contracts with three companies for the planting of trees and related services throughout the City. The Hyattsville Tree Canopy Restoration Project was proposed with a goal of planting 750 trees over 3 years through the Spring 2025 planting season. This expenditure will be used to plant trees in the ROW, other public spaces, and to setup a program to assist residents with planting trees.

Issue purchase order and begin outreach for planting planning.
