Purchase of Replacement Playground Equipment for Driskell Park

I move the Mayor and Council authorize the City Administrator enter into an agreement with Playground Specialists for the purchase and install of new swings at Driskell Park for an encumbrance not to exceed $25,000. This purchase is funded in the FY24 Capital Improvement Program budget, and the Treasurer is authorized to make the necessary budget modifications to facilitate this expenditure.

Summary Background:
During a regular inspection of the playground equipment at Driskell Park it was discovered that the swing set equipment was showing signs of wear and aging. City staff have determined that the equipment should be replaced to provide for the continued safe access for park users. Continued deterioration of the equipment could reduce structural integrity and cause the closing and removal of the equipment. This purchase is being facilitate through the Houston Galveston Area Council collective purchasing agreement, of which the City is a member.

Issue purchase order and schedule replacement of the equipment.
