Summary Background:

In the Spring of 2022, the City received petitions requesting traffic calming on Lancer Drive and Longfellow Street. A public hearing was held on May 16, 2022, and the Council authorized the installation of traffic calming measures for the 3500 block of Longfellow Street and the 3400/3500 blocks of Lancer Drive on June 6, 2022.

Since that time, the Department of Public Works has developed a Multimodal Toolkit for use in identifying and deploying various types of traffic calming strategies. Staff believes it will be beneficial to update the study to obtain current traffic volume and speeds, review and assess the tools and strategies in the Multimodal Toolkit for design and deploying traffic calming for these areas.

Next Steps:

Issue purchase order and conduct study

Fiscal Impact:

NTE $45,000
