Suggested Action:

For discussion: I move the Mayor and Council include funding in the FY25 budget to allow Councilmembers to receive healthcare benefits through the City.

Fiscal Impact:

Depending on the program and City percentage, the taxpayer cost and budget impact per Councilmember could range from $5,500 to $12,500 per year per Councilmember. 

 

City Administrator Comments:

The City is part of the State Benefits Plan.  State regulations require the City to have documentation verifying part time employees work 20 hours or more per week to receive health benefits. To be eligible the Councilmember must work a total of 80 hours per month.
